Last Sunday's Message, May 17: "Up, up and Away: The Ascension of Jesus Christ" based on Acts 1:1-11. This Sunday we will be celebrating Ascension Sunday remembering when our Lord Jesus ascended into heaven after His resurrection appearances. We'll take an indepth look at Jesus' ascension and what the significance of that act meant on that day in the First Century and what it means for us now in the 21st century. Plan to come to worship and grow in your discipleship.
This Sunday's Message, May 24: "The Power of Pentecost Today" based on Acts 2:1-13. This message will not only explain what the significance of Pentecost was on that day the disciples experienced it--but will also look into what it means to be a spirit-filled Christian today and what role that understanding plays in our daily lives. This is a powerful day in the life of the church and you will not want to miss it.
Sunday May 30 Message: "Taking Courage in the Midst of a Community of Encouragement" based on 1 Thessalonians 5:11-28. Encouragement is something every single living, breathing human being needs in order to continue to excel in his or her life. Even animals need encouragement in order to reamin happy, healthy and growing. This action of encouragement becomes even more important when it comes to the behavior and character of the church. This is because the act of encouragement is a divine calling that poeple of God are to exercise on a regular basis. A timely word of encouragement keeps the human spirit going. It is easy to criticize--anyone can do that. But God calls for us to be encouragers. So, on this Sunday we will explore the Scriptures to discover ways to both be encouraged and to be an encouragement to others. So, you are encouraged to come on out to be encouraged.
